My Confidence Journey

I’ve always been pretty confident and independent, not afraid to do what I want and to make big, life-changing decisions on my own.

However, I did go through some not-so-confident times growing up, especially in middle school (aka the PEAK of my awkward phase, both in looks and not knowing who I really was as a person). My siblings love to make fun of my middle school class pictures and I don’t blame them. I had plucked my eyebrows into oblivion, had braces, and did this weird stringy face-framing thing with my bangs – yikes.

The moral of that story is that while I feel I’m naturally confident now, I DO know what it feels like to not be.

And I know what it feels like to take to heart every. little. thing. someone says about you.

For instance, I wore a fake leather jacket to middle school once – I thought I was THE SHIT in it, until I walked into the schoolyard and one of my “friends” at the time made fun of it in front of the group. I laughed it off at the time but it crushed me and I was afraid to wear leather for like, years, after that.

I have many more examples of situations exactly like that one from my younger years. Situations where I was afraid, or too shy, to stand up for myself. Situations where some small thing someone said would affect my choices and beliefs about myself for years to come.

Eventually when I got to high school, I grew into myself and started to shake off some of those nagging limiting beliefs and doubts that had been instilled in middle school and had ruined my confidence. My natural self-confidence began to shine through again and I was able to live with more freedom and happiness just being me and not caring so much what others thought or said.

Fast-forward to when I was about 28 years old.

I had been unhappy with my office jobs for a couple years and longed to do something else with my life. Through career searching I found online business and online coaching and immediately felt called to it. It became my goal to create a successful, fulfilling online business helping people.

But I STRUGGLED. And I didn’t know why. I just couldn’t seem to figure out what I wanted to do, I couldn’t stay consistent or motivated, so I kept giving up.

One day I hired a business coach to help me and everything changed. The first few weeks with her we tackled mindset stuff. It turns out ALL of my troubles with achieving my goal of starting a business were because of limiting beliefs that were causing a lack of confidence in myself and my abilities. I didn’t really deep down believe I could do it. This self-doubt then it turn was causing all of my motivation and clarity issues.

With her help, I realized I thought I was lazy, and thought I could never follow through with things, and I FULLY believed that about myself. I thought it was fact. That they were personality traits, a part of me I could never change. Then, through coaching, I realized that WASN’T the case. AT ALL.

These were just thoughts I had had enough times about myself throughout my life that I started to BELIEVE they were true, that they defined me, that they were who I was.

Since I thought I was lazy and never followed through with things, I didn’t really believe that I could make my business successful, so I would lose motivation to work on it very easily. Because I couldn’t see myself at the finish line, at the end goal. It was basically a self-fulfilling prophecy! I didn’t believe I could, so I didn’t.

Long story short, I learned so many useful exercises and techniques to break free of those limiting beliefs that were keeping me boxed into that life I was unhappy with and was able to really make progress on my business from the point on. I gained confidence and drive like I had never had before.

My entire life felt completely different after that РI was happier, felt on top of the world, like I could do anything, there were no limitations to my life.

Fast forward again, I have now spent years studying confidence, motivation, energy, clarity, and inspiration. Because of my experience with limiting beliefs, fears, and doubts holding me back from going after what I wanted, it is now my MISSION to help others break free too. I know how good it feels on the other side and I want everyone to feel this way.

My motto is: It all begins with self-confidence. Confidence spurs clarity, energy, and motivation, which then it turn creates productivity, success, and a fulfilled life. And a fulfilled life is a happy life.

Confidence = Motivation & Clarity & Energy = Productivity = Success = Fulfillment = Happiness.
